with Sherry Butler, MSW, LCSW, TF-CBT


“Developing a Model of Mental Health Wellness for Law Enforcement/Public Safety Personnel: The Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Suicide Prevention Component.”


This presentation will provide education regarding EMDR as an integrative, evidenced-based psychotherapy, as well as a discussion of EMDR incorporation into a model of mental health wellness to facilitate the successful reduction of mental health stigma and stress-related disorders, including trauma, suicidal ideation, depression, etc.


Sherry is a Mental Health Therapist and a qualified provider of clinical social services, also holding an Academy of Certified Social Worker’s certification (ACSW) in good standing from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Additionally, she is a U.S. Government Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Graduate Fellow working with transitional-aged youth in Project TAY. She is a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT), has an endorsement in Motivational Interviewing (MI), and is a trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. Sherry is also currently the Senior Clinical Supervisor for Lutheran Child and Family Services (LCFS) located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
