Fleet Maull, Ph.D

Director of Training  & Research 

Fleet Maull, Ph.D. is an author, consultant, trainer, and executive coach.  Dr. Maull has guest lectured at Harvard University, University of Colorado, and Colorado State University.  He is also a frequent keynote and plenary speaker at conferences on end-of-life care, restorative & transformative justice, and mindfulness-based prison work.

John MacAdams

Senior Trainer 

John MacAdams, CMT-P, is an IMTA certified professional mindfulness teacher as well as a 35+ year mindfulness practitioner and certified mindfulness teacher for over 20 years.  He has more than 7 years experience working in corrections and public safety, and serves as a senior chaplain at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Men’s Central Jail and Twin Towers Correctional Facility, part of the USA’s largest jail system. MacAdams has trained law enforcement, custody, probation & parole, border patrol and correctional officers in Oregon, California and Ontario, Canada.

K. Vita Pires

Executive Director

K.Vita Pires-Crisp, Ph.D Candidate, CMT-P, RYT, has been our Executive Director since 1999. She is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher (CMT-P), and is a trainer in EMI’s year long Mindfulness Teacher Training. She is the author of the Path of Freedom™ and the lead developer & trainer in our MBEI-based Path of Freedom™ curriculum. Kate Crisp has taught in various prisons and jails in the U.S for 19 years.

Danielle Mola

Program Coordinator

Danielle Mola has been working in the fields of mindfulness and emotional intelligence, as well as studying the psychology of the human mind, for over 10 years and has extensive experiential knowledge of the ways in which both solitary mindfulness practice, and silent, group retreat practice, can transform both physical and mental health. She has been with the Center for Mindfulness in Public Safety for four years as the Program Coordinator and brings her administrative, organizational, and creativity to the team.
