Join us on Wednesday, April 24th, at 8 pm ET for the second installment of our special EMDR Mindful Public Safety Hour!

Part Two: EMDR for Law Enforcement & Public Safety

Live RDI Simulation with Sherry Butler, MSW, LCSW, TF-CBT

“Developing a Model of Mental Health Wellness for Law Enforcement/Public Safety Personnel: The Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Suicide Prevention Component.”

This presentation and demonstration will provide insight and reduce stigma and distrust in the EMDR process for public safety professionals and their administrative support system. This will be achieved through a virtual presentation of a simulated EMDR session using Resource Development and Installation (RDI) – role-play with a pre-selected participant. Role-play would demonstrate Bi-lateral Stimulation (BLS) and RDI. RDI is the development of coping skills and intentional cognitive installation of those coping skills. RDI coping skills are internal rather than external, which enhances the opportunity to develop and use them discretely and immediately.

Sherry is a Mental Health Therapist and a qualified provider of clinical social services, also holding an Academy of Certified Social Worker’s certification (ACSW) in good standing from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
