Mindfulness In Policing

“When we’re talking about a community that wants to be treated fairly and unbiasedly, mindfulness is the path to get there,” Goerling said. “It’s a bold statement. But there’s no other path.”

Some members of Oregon’s Hillsboro Police Department begin exploring mindfulness through their first yoga class. Police Lt. Richard Goerling helped develop this program for the officers in order to better handle the physical and mental strains of the job.
